12 London bars feature in a new Michelin-style guide

We know that our citys cocktail culture is the best, but its just been confirmed by a brand new Michelin-style guide to global drinking.

The recently launched Pinnacle Guide is a special ranking of the planet’s most incredible bars, and the first ever list features 37 global spots – a massive 12 of which are in London. That’s almost a third of the whole list! Well done us. Arent we great?

The platform says it aims to become ‘the cocktail bar industry’s most respected accolade of excellence’, and it hands out one, two or three pins to bars that are either ‘excellent’, ‘outstanding’ or ‘exceptional’.
Ten London bars have been awarded one-pin, with the likes of Kol Mezcaleria in Marylebone, Swift Soho and Side Hustle at the Nomad in Covent Garden grabbing the ‘excellent’ accolade. A further two London bars were awarded two pins, with Nipperkin (the Mayfair bar at the new Niju restaurant) and The Spy Bar at Raffles hotel in the OWO on Whitehall scooping the honour.

But nowhere has been awarded three pins just yet. According to the Pinnacle Guide’s website, a bar must submit an ‘exceptional’ application and provide ‘exceptional’ service to bag that elusive third pin.
