Four London pizza restaurants have been crowned the best in Europe

50 Kalò

There’s not much a good pizza can’t fix. Sizzling cheese, a crispy base and topping options to please every taste and fancy. It’s no wonder Londoners are hooked on the stuff.

And the Big Smoke certainly isn’t short of good pizza options. In fact, it turns out the capital has some of the best pizzerias in Europe. That’s according to the folks at the 50 Top Pizza Europa 2026 Awards, who have recently announced their rankings of the best restaurants in the continent to grab a slice – and impressively, four are in London.

Napoli on the Road (1)

Claiming the top spot for the third year in a row was Napoli on the Road. The west London joint started out as a truck that toured the capital’s food markets. Now, founder Michele Pascarella has gone on to open three pizzerias across the capital; you’ll find them in Chiswick (9A Devonshire Rd, W4 2EU), Richmond (12 Red Lion St, TW9 1RW) and Soho (140 Wardour St, W1F 8ZT). 50 Kalò (4)

Three other London pizzerias also earned a well-deserved place on the list. Coming in at an impressive fourth place was 50 Kalò. The pizzeria has been a buzzing spot in Naples since 2014 (and if anyone knows their pizzas, it’s Neapolitans), before it opened in Embankment in July 2018. The restaurant was founded by Ciro Salvo, the third generation of a family of pizzamakers, who is a pizza master. He’s even studied the links between dough and hydration, a knowledge that’s at the heart of how he makes pizzas today. 50 Kalò has been showered with various accolades, including Top Italian Restaurants for Il Gambero Rosso International and recognition of Best Service 2020 from the Prosecco Doc Consortium. You can pay them a visit at 7 Northumberland Ave, WC2N 5BY.

Being named the 4th Best Pizzeria in Europe is something we’re incredibly proud of,’ 50 Kalò wrote in an Instagram post. And, of course, thank you to everyone who has walked through our doors, shared a pizza with us, and supported our journey in London. We’re grateful to be part of this incredible community, and we’ll continue doing what we’ve always believed in.’

L’Antica Pizzeria (28)

In 28th place was L’Antica Pizzeria. Established five years ago in Hampstead by Luca de Vita and Alessandro Betti, L’Antica is a known for its delicious dough and Neapolitan-made wood oven. The combination of fermented dough (over 36 hours, to be precise) and an expert cooking process make for a deliciously charred base.

Connie’s Pizzeria (48)

Last but certainly not least from London was Connie’s Pizzeria at number 48 (and also winning a ‘one to watch’ award). As the name suggests, the pizzeria is named after someone called Connie, who turns out to be the founder’s wife. The Peckham joint, the brainchild of 081 Pizzeria founder Andrea Asciuti, is famed for being London’s ‘Bri-talian’ spot – aka, a London-style crispy pizza made with the Italian touch.

The top 20 pizzerias in the ranking automatically qualify for the 100 Best Pizzerias in the World, meaning both Napoli on the Road and 50 Kalò are in with a chance of nabbing the top spot. The winner will be unveiled on Tuesday September 15 in Naples. Where else?
