A new map reveals hidden set menus at London’s best restaurants

If you want to taste the best of a restaurant’s menu at the fraction of its normal price, a set menu is the way to go. Sure, they might not offer nearly as much choice as à la carte but that can be a good thing. Let the restaurant do the thinking while you sit back, relax and count all the pennies you’ve saved.

The issue is, set menus are often hidden in the dark depths of a restaurant’s website or scribbled on an incognito chalk board inside the place, and it can be tricky to plan them in advance. But not anymore. Now, there’s an app for that. From Michelin-starred spots to award-winning gastropubsAll Set London maps out all of the city’s best and most affordable set menus.

To give you an idea of the kinds of deals you on the app so far, there’s the £15 set lunch at Brunswick House, the £28 three-course lunch at Manteca, the £20 two-course lunch at Camberwell Arms, the £28 set menu at Noble Rot, the £50 four-courser at Trishna and the £30 three-courses at Akara. Other top London restaurants that feature include Chishuru, the River Cafe, Luca and Sune

Users can filter the restaurants according to things like price, location, cuisine, days available and whether they’ve got a Michelin star or not. At the moment there are just over 120 restaurants on the app and there are new one beings added every week. Right now, it mostly covers central London and is still short on restaurants in places like Hackney, Islington and Brixton. But if users know of a set menu that isn’t on there yet they can submit a recommendation.
