London’s best Thai restaurant has been crowned for 2024 by Time Out

Thai food is one of the planet’s most complex and diverse cuisines, its intense spices and aromatic scents featuring in dishes ranging from stews to grills. And London has a joint for every region, style and facet of Thai cuisine – which makes ranking the capital’s Thai restaurants all the more daunting a task.

On the hunt for your next exquisite Thai fix? We’ve just the thing. Here at Time Out we’ve just published our latest ranking of the capital’s Thai restaurants, which was put together by food writer and urban anthropologist Joel Hart.

Hart’s picks range massively, featuring everything from Londoners’ established favourites to scintillating fusion-happy newcomers. Each of the restaurants in the list is a must-visit for London Thai food fanatics.

Top place went to the legendary (and legendarily hard-to-book) Singburi. The family-run Leytonstone resto dishes up ‘riveting, electrifying cooking’ and ‘expert seafood cookery’.

Hart advises: ‘Go in a group, order everything from the blackboard specials menu, and leave feeling like you’ve had one of the best-value meals of your life.’ You can read our five-star review of Singburi here.

Second comes AngloThai, the long-awaited permanent home of John and Desiree Chantarasak which only opened in November and has already received a five-star Time Out review. Third is Soho’s Kiln, ‘a punk rock take on central London’s Thai offerings’ and known for its fierce heat.
